In The Mood For Color ~ Altenew Educator Certification Program

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Saundra and I am a cardmaker. I love to create and I hope you find a bit of inspiration while you are here.

Today I am sharing a card I created for the In The Mood For Color Class at Altenew Academy. This is the second class in Level 2 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.

This class taught the importance of how color can affect a mood. With that in mind, I decided to use yellow for my inspiration. 

Yellow reflects warmth, happiness, energy, optimism, and friendliness.

This was perfect for a thank you card.

To begin, I chose to use Altenew's Painted Flowers (ALT). I stamped the images with Altenew Inks in the following colors: Obsidian Pigment Ink (outlines), Buttercream and Warm Sunshine (flowers), Olive and Moss (leaves).

These were all die-cut using the Altenew Painted Flowers Dies (ALT) and  the Altenew Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine. I set these aside and worked on my background.

For this I simply ink-blended some Buttercream and Warm Sunshine inks concentrating on the opposite corners of the panel. Once I was happy with the blend, I splattered the background with some Altenew Antique Silver Metallic Spray.

Once the background was dry I adhered the flowers to the card panel with some Lawn Fawn Liquid Glue Tube.

I chose the Altenew Thank You Die (ALT) to be my lone sentiment. I die-cut this out in black cardstock and some Neenah Solar White Cardstock  I used my yellow inks to create a gradient on my thank you sentiment. I chose to off-set the layers a bit and adhered these to the center of my card panel with some Scrapbook Adhesives Foam Squares.

I added my panel to a card base with some SBC 1/4" Adhesive and finished the card of with some Altenew Pocketful of Sunshine Enamel Dots (ALT).

I really enjoyed putting this card together.
