Using cut files in unexpected ways is fun and expands your creativity!

Today I am sharing a card featuring a new cut file from Scrapbook.com

The cut file I am featuring is called Borders. It is a bundle of 7 different designs that can be used for scrapbooking and card making. It is a cut file so you will need a digital cutting machine. I use a Silhouette Cameo that I have had for years.
To begin, I cut a tree shape using the Advent Tree cut file. I stretched it to get a taller skinny tree. This was my base. I cut several of the scallop borders using some patterned paper from my stash.
The scallops were scored about an 1/8th of an inch from the straight edge. I began layering them onto the tree base adding tiny drops of glue from my Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. I folded each layer and added some Double Sided Adhesive Foam Rounds to create some dimension.
I created my card base to measure 4"x 9.5". I heat embossed a sentiment from Scrapbook.com Big and Bold Christmas using Versamark Ink, Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, and Wagner Heat Tool onto some patterned paper. Once cool, I added it to my card base
My tree was adhered to the card panel using Double Sided Adhesive and craft foam to give it some lift. For a final touch I added a star cut from Silver Glitter Cardstock.
I love the way this came together!
