Sweet Birthday Wishes ~ Altenew Inspiration / AECP

Hello Friends! Welcome to my blog.

You can never have enough birthday cards! So, when I was ready to make a project for my latest completed class from the Altenew Educator Certification Program that's what I chose to make!

I just completed the Irresistible Inking Techniques class taught by Sara Naumann. This class gives tips and techniques on using your Altenew Inks in some interesting ways.

I love creating inked backgrounds so I was definitely inspired by the brayer technique.

For my color pallet I was inspired by the current Altenew Inspiration Challenge and chose my colors accordingly.

To create the background for my card I used a brayer and Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in the following colors: Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, and Sunkissed.

I created 2 backgrounds. As you can see in the picture you can achieve a variety of different looks depending on the amount of ink you apply. I love how both backgrounds came out but ultimately chose the background with the bit of white space. The other background is saved for a future project.

Now that my background is completed it was time to assemble the card.

I chose to use the Altenew Peaceful Reverie Stamps and Dies for this card. These are absolutely beautiful with the dotted detail. I inked the stamps with the same Altenew Inks I used for the background. Instead of stamping the final layer for the center I chose to fill the stamen with a black Tombow marker and add the center with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black. This gave the centers a little dimension.

I arranged my die cut flowers and glued them to the panel with a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive.

The sentiment I chose is from the Altenew Sentiment Strips. A must-have in my opinion! I love this sentiment as it fits perfectly across my panel. I heat embossed the sentiment onto some black card stock using VersaMark Watermark Ink and white embossing powder. I used liquid glue to attach the strip and added my panel to a card base.

This project marks the completion of my AECP Level 1 classes. I am excited to see what my challenge will be for the final project.

If you have ever thought about taking Altenew classes I would urge you to do so. It has been so fun to go through this process and learn.

Thank you all for the encouragement and kind words you have given me. I appreciate all of the feedback and love.
