Hello Friends! welcome to my blog!
Today I have a fun card that I have created for the Craftin Desert Divas June Creative Inspiration.
This month's theme is cute critters.
For this card I pulled out the CDD Panda-bilities stamps. These are cutest pandas! I colored my pandas with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out.
As I was coloring my pandas I had the idea to make this into a swing card. I know that there is a lot of cardmakers that have done this and it is pretty simple to create.
With that idea in mind I set out to create a background. For this I pulled out CDD Hillside Scene 2 Stencil and some Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors: Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn. I used a makeup brush to apply the ink and that was all that was needed for a simple background. Once my background was complete I used CDD Fancy Frames Die to give the background a nice decorative edge.
For the sentiment I used and older stamp set form CDD called Happy Thoughts. Unfortunately this one is no longer available. I really love this sentiment and felt it fit this image so I went with it. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. Love this ink because It stamps nice and bold!
I added my images to the card with some Lawn Fan Glue and popped up my panda with the balloons with some foam tape. My panel was added to a white card base with some foam adhesive so that the balloons would have room to move.
To complete the card I added some Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the balloons and some white accents with my Gelly Roll Pen.
I did not take pictures of how I created the mechanism but I will like to a video that shows how to create one.
I did, however, take a little video so you can see the movement.
Here is the tutorial I watched that explains how to make a swing card.
