Furry and Bright ~ MFT Sketch Challenge

October 30, 2017 0 Comments

Hello!  Welcome to my blog on this chilly Monday!

Today I am sharing a fun Christmas card that I made for the MFT Sketch Challenge.

This card features MFT Happy Pawlidays stamps. This set has the cutest furry babies all ready for the Christmas season.

I started with a white card base and inked it with some Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio.

I die cut my speech bubble with MFT Stitched Speech Bubble Edges (retired) and stamped my Christmas bulbs and and sentiment. To make a sting of lights I hand drew the cord with my black pen. I colored the lights with Copic markers, added some shimmer with some Clear Wink of Stella, and covered the bulbs with Glossy accents.

I colored this cute little dog from this same stamp set with Comic markers and added Glossy Accents to his little nose. He is popped up with some foam tape.

To finish off my card I added a few clear sequins.

Here is the sketch for this challenge:

I really enjoy playing along with the challenge and with MFT stamps!

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

You're My Hero

October 25, 2017 0 Comments

Hello! Are you ready for some Piggy Power?

Today I am sharing a card that features a little super hero piggy!

This cute little pig is from Craftin Desert Divas Caped Crusaders stamps. I thought it would be fun to pair my super hero with a night sky and cityscape.

I had a lot of fun ink blending the background with my Distress Oxide Inks. To create the look I used Broken China, Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot. I added a little Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade to the moon.

I used Craftin Desert Divas Building Dies and cut my city all in black. I wanted glowing windows so I took a piece of vellum and colored it with some Copic markers then put it behind my die cuts. I sponged a little bit of white chalk ink onto the buildings just so they wouldn't look too flat.

My little super piggy was colored with Copic markers and popped him up in the sky. For a final touch I added a few sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

MFT Sketch Challenge 355

October 23, 2017 2 Comments

Today I am sharing a card I created for the current My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

This is the current sketch:

Here is my card:

For my card, I pulled out the MFT Santa's Elves and coordinating dies and got to coloring.
I used my Copic markers to color my images and added some shimmer with my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen.

I used some Twisted Citron Distress Oxide for my background. I used the MFT Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle Dies to create a little border strip. I inked it up with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink and attached it to my card base. I added some ribbon and enamel dots to dress up the card. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I love the little elves from the MFT Santa's Elves!

Have a fabulous day!!

So Much Cake ~ MFT Sketch Challenge

October 10, 2017 0 Comments

Hi There! I am back to share a card I made for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

I am getting this in under the wire! (I will update this with a better picture. (
It is very cloudy today!)

(This picture is much better!)

It's my first time playing along and I had so much fun.

For my card I used My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday stamps. I have had this set for quite a while and I am thrilled that I could play with them!

I colored my images with Copic markers.

For my background I used Distress Oxide Inks to go along with the colors I used for my bear and cake. For texture I pulled out an old embossing folder that I have had for ages. I love the effect it gave this card. For some sparkle I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the gifts and frosting on the cake, and a few random sequins.

Here is the sketch I followed:

I hope to play along in the future!

Enjoy!

Dear Santa...

Did you ever see a stamp set that you just knew you had to have?

Yep, that happened to me!

I saw these cute kittens from Gerda Steiner Designs and they had to be mine! Aren't they cute!!

They reminded my of my kitties so I had to color them to look like mine. This set is called Christmas Kitten and I Love it! This is a new stamp company for me and if you haven't heard of them before be sure to check them out.

I colored these adorable kittens with Copic markers and added a few embellishments to them. A little Glossy accents for the eyes and Clear Wink of Stella on the Christmas ornaments seemed to be the perfect touch.

I used a few dies from Craftin Desert Divas to frame the scene.  The base is cut from Fancy Frames Dies and the window is from Inside Scalloped Circle Dies.

Here is a picture of the inspiration for the coloring.

The buff tabby is Noel and our black and white is Oreo. They are something!

That's it for me today! See you soon!

Harvest Happiness

October 09, 2017 0 Comments

Happy Columbus Day! I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Did you get to create anything for World Cardmaking Day?

I was able to get one card done and I absolutely love the way it turned out!

I used my time to play along with the Craftin Desert Divas October Social Media Challenge.

Here is the inspiration:

I think I was most inspired by the colors and the autumn elements.

I started with the cute scarecrow from Craftin Desert Divas Harvest Happiness stamps. I love this scarecrow and just had to color him up with my Copic markers.

I created a window for my background scene use a circle die from my stash. For the background I used CDD Fall Border Dies and I watercolored the trees with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The grass and the sky were created with some Distress Oxide Inks

For my sentiment I used CDD Flag Banner Dies. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Harvest Happiness set and added another label under it. I had the card pretty much completed but it seemed to lacking something and them is when I decided to add a bit of white spatter on the front. I did that with a little white acrylic paint mixed with a little water. It was just what the card needed!

I have a little more to share with you this week so please come back!

Keep crafting!

Be Thankful

October 06, 2017 0 Comments

Happy Friday!

It has taken me all week to create this card but I am so glad that I finally made everything work and come together to share it today.

My card is featuring an older Newtons Nook Designs stamped image from the Hello Fall set that was an exclusive set designed for Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember 2016.

To create the scene I began by creating a sky using Milled Lavender Distress ink and My Favorite Things Cloud stencil. It came out very soft and I really like how subtle it is.

I pulled out my Craftin Desert Divas dies for the rest of the scene. I used CDD Outdoor Landscape 2, Garden Border, and Crazy Stitched Frame Dies. More Distress Inks were used to create the ground and grass.

Adding a few leaves and my sentiment from the Newtons Nook Hallo Fall set was just what this card need.

Tomorrow World Card Making Day. Are you planning to do anything?

You Are Loved

October 02, 2017 0 Comments

Hello friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

I got to play with some "new to me" products this weekend and this was the result.

As some of you may know, I took a crafting/blogging break earlier this year I am just now coming back to it.

Although I have been out of the loop a bit I did hear about the Ranger Distress Oxide Inks  and had purchase them months ago. They were just sitting in a box under my craft station waiting patiently to be used. Well, I gotta tell ya! I used them this weekend and I LOVE them!! They blend beautifully and I am excited to use them in future projects!

As you can see, this card is featuring a background that was blend with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot for the sky. I used a white gel pen to create the stars in the sky. It turned so beautiful!

For the grass, I die cut it from Craftin Desert Divas Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies.  I used Peeled Paint, Lucky Clover, and a little Black Soot on the edges to color it in.

I loved this little image from Sugar Pea Designs "Koalaty Time". It was part of the Stamptember Release from Simon Says Stamp. (Sorry, I believe it is sold out). I colored the image with Copic markers and added them to the simple scene. The sentiment is from this same set and was heat embossed.

I am hoping to share some more with you this week!
