You Are Magical ~ Craftin Desert Divas December Release

December 17, 2017 0 Comments
Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing a card that I created with the new Craftin Desert Divas Sparkle Stamps.

This set has the cutest unicorns!

For my card I chose this cute unicorn couple. The stamp actually includes a rainbow but once I colored this couple up I decided to fussy-cut them out and left off the rainbow.

As you can see I still sat them on a rainbow I just added them to a larger one. This rainbow is from CDD Rainbow Dies. I cut it out several times to get the various colors. The large clouds are included in this die set, as well.

I added few more clouds from a few other CDD die sets: Scene Builder Dies and Tiny Treasures Dies.

I added a few hearts around my image and heat embossed my sentiment, both included in the Sparkle stamp set.

Today is the last day to get 15% off your Craftin Desert Divas order using Code: DECEMBER

Welcome Little One ~ Craftin Desert Divas November Release

November 19, 2017 0 Comments

Hello! Welcome to my blog!

Today I am sharing another card featuring the new Snow Happy stamps from Craftin Desert Divas.

This image in the set really made me want to make a welcome baby card. It is such a sweet image.

I colored the image using my Copic markers and fussy-cut it out.

For my background I ink blended some Abandoned Coral Distress Ink Oxide onto two panels. To create all of my layers I used CDD Fancy Frames Dies. I layered everything and added a sentiment from CDD Sugar & Spice stamps onto the CDD Flag Banner Dies. I heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.

Once everything was arranged where I wanted it I finished off the card with Lavender Stickles.

Be sure to head on over the Craftin Desert Divas to see all of the new products.

You Warm My Heart ~ Craftin Desert Divas November Release

November 17, 2017 0 Comments

Hi There! I am back today to share another sneak peek of Craftin Desert Divas November Release.

Today we are featuring the Arctic Pals stamps.

I absolutely love this image that is included in this set! I knew right away that I had to color it up! Copic markers were used to color the image and I fussy-cut it out.

I wanted a night time scene so I created my background using Distress Oxide Inks: Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot. I added a few water splashes and a bit of white acrylic pain splashes.

I added a snow hill at the bottom using the CDD Outdoor Landscape Dies then cut the whole panel out with CDD Fancy Frames Dies.

To complete my background I made a stencil with the CDD Heart Of Heart Dies and used embossing paste. While the paste was dry I added some Martha Stewart  Coarse Crystal Glitter.

2 banner strips were cut using the CDD Flag Banner Dies. I stamped my sentiment form the new Arctic Pals set and added it to the front.

A few little finishing touches with my Nuvo Aqua Glitter Pen and a little Ranger Glossy Accents on the heart and my card was complete.

All the stamps and dies will be released today so be on the lookout and make sure to get your favorites!

November 16, 2017 0 Comments

Hello and welcome to my blog!

This week I have the privilege of being a guest designer for Craftin Desert Diva's November Release!

Today we are sharing sneak peeks of this cute and exclusive stamp set Snow Happy.

This set is full of cute little trolls frolicking in the snow.

I decided to make a slider card with my little skaters. I used Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet to create my background. My snowy hill was created with the CDD Outdoor Landscape Dies and my slider element was created with CDD Ocean Border Dies.

I colored my images with Copic markers and I added lots of detail with my white gel pen.

Please be sure to join in all the fun for this release by visiting the Craftin Desert Divas Release Event on Facebook.

I'll be back with a few more sneak peeks of this release this week so keep your eyes peeled!

Beauty ~ Craftin Desert Divas November Release

November 14, 2017 0 Comments

Hello and Welcome to my blog!

I have the privilege of joining the Craftin Desert Divas team for the November release!

There are so many cute stamps, dies, sequins, and a stencil in this release.

Today we are featuring the new stencil, Sorted Shapes 1,  for this release.

This stencil is such a great staple for your craft stash. It features 4 different patterns in one stencil.

I went with and artsy look this time. I've been watching a lot of art journal videos on YouTube lately and this card was very much inspired by that.

I used the stencil with my Distress Oxide Inks to create a background.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, and Peacock Feathers. You can see the dots in the background. These were created by inking the stencil.

I added a flower from CDD Botanical Layers stamps and my quote was created with the Elegant Brush Script stamps and my label maker.

I did a little doodling and splatters and added some Nuvo Drops to complete my card.

Please make sure to join the even on Facebook to see what all of the designers are creating and for a chance to win some prizes.

I'll be back soon with another sneak peek!

Furry and Bright ~ MFT Sketch Challenge

October 30, 2017 0 Comments

Hello!  Welcome to my blog on this chilly Monday!

Today I am sharing a fun Christmas card that I made for the MFT Sketch Challenge.

This card features MFT Happy Pawlidays stamps. This set has the cutest furry babies all ready for the Christmas season.

I started with a white card base and inked it with some Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio.

I die cut my speech bubble with MFT Stitched Speech Bubble Edges (retired) and stamped my Christmas bulbs and and sentiment. To make a sting of lights I hand drew the cord with my black pen. I colored the lights with Copic markers, added some shimmer with some Clear Wink of Stella, and covered the bulbs with Glossy accents.

I colored this cute little dog from this same stamp set with Comic markers and added Glossy Accents to his little nose. He is popped up with some foam tape.

To finish off my card I added a few clear sequins.

Here is the sketch for this challenge:

I really enjoy playing along with the challenge and with MFT stamps!

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

You're My Hero

October 25, 2017 0 Comments

Hello! Are you ready for some Piggy Power?

Today I am sharing a card that features a little super hero piggy!

This cute little pig is from Craftin Desert Divas Caped Crusaders stamps. I thought it would be fun to pair my super hero with a night sky and cityscape.

I had a lot of fun ink blending the background with my Distress Oxide Inks. To create the look I used Broken China, Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot. I added a little Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade to the moon.

I used Craftin Desert Divas Building Dies and cut my city all in black. I wanted glowing windows so I took a piece of vellum and colored it with some Copic markers then put it behind my die cuts. I sponged a little bit of white chalk ink onto the buildings just so they wouldn't look too flat.

My little super piggy was colored with Copic markers and popped him up in the sky. For a final touch I added a few sequins.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today!

So Much Cake ~ MFT Sketch Challenge

October 10, 2017 0 Comments

Hi There! I am back to share a card I made for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

I am getting this in under the wire! (I will update this with a better picture. (
It is very cloudy today!)

(This picture is much better!)

It's my first time playing along and I had so much fun.

For my card I used My Favorite Things Beary Special Birthday stamps. I have had this set for quite a while and I am thrilled that I could play with them!

I colored my images with Copic markers.

For my background I used Distress Oxide Inks to go along with the colors I used for my bear and cake. For texture I pulled out an old embossing folder that I have had for ages. I love the effect it gave this card. For some sparkle I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the gifts and frosting on the cake, and a few random sequins.

Here is the sketch I followed:

I hope to play along in the future!

Enjoy!

Dear Santa...

Did you ever see a stamp set that you just knew you had to have?

Yep, that happened to me!

I saw these cute kittens from Gerda Steiner Designs and they had to be mine! Aren't they cute!!

They reminded my of my kitties so I had to color them to look like mine. This set is called Christmas Kitten and I Love it! This is a new stamp company for me and if you haven't heard of them before be sure to check them out.

I colored these adorable kittens with Copic markers and added a few embellishments to them. A little Glossy accents for the eyes and Clear Wink of Stella on the Christmas ornaments seemed to be the perfect touch.

I used a few dies from Craftin Desert Divas to frame the scene.  The base is cut from Fancy Frames Dies and the window is from Inside Scalloped Circle Dies.

Here is a picture of the inspiration for the coloring.

The buff tabby is Noel and our black and white is Oreo. They are something!

That's it for me today! See you soon!

Harvest Happiness

October 09, 2017 0 Comments

Happy Columbus Day! I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Did you get to create anything for World Cardmaking Day?

I was able to get one card done and I absolutely love the way it turned out!

I used my time to play along with the Craftin Desert Divas October Social Media Challenge.

Here is the inspiration:

I think I was most inspired by the colors and the autumn elements.

I started with the cute scarecrow from Craftin Desert Divas Harvest Happiness stamps. I love this scarecrow and just had to color him up with my Copic markers.

I created a window for my background scene use a circle die from my stash. For the background I used CDD Fall Border Dies and I watercolored the trees with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. The grass and the sky were created with some Distress Oxide Inks

For my sentiment I used CDD Flag Banner Dies. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Harvest Happiness set and added another label under it. I had the card pretty much completed but it seemed to lacking something and them is when I decided to add a bit of white spatter on the front. I did that with a little white acrylic paint mixed with a little water. It was just what the card needed!

I have a little more to share with you this week so please come back!

Keep crafting!

Be Thankful

October 06, 2017 0 Comments

Happy Friday!

It has taken me all week to create this card but I am so glad that I finally made everything work and come together to share it today.

My card is featuring an older Newtons Nook Designs stamped image from the Hello Fall set that was an exclusive set designed for Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember 2016.

To create the scene I began by creating a sky using Milled Lavender Distress ink and My Favorite Things Cloud stencil. It came out very soft and I really like how subtle it is.

I pulled out my Craftin Desert Divas dies for the rest of the scene. I used CDD Outdoor Landscape 2, Garden Border, and Crazy Stitched Frame Dies. More Distress Inks were used to create the ground and grass.

Adding a few leaves and my sentiment from the Newtons Nook Hallo Fall set was just what this card need.

Tomorrow World Card Making Day. Are you planning to do anything?

You Are Loved

October 02, 2017 0 Comments

Hello friends! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

I got to play with some "new to me" products this weekend and this was the result.

As some of you may know, I took a crafting/blogging break earlier this year I am just now coming back to it.

Although I have been out of the loop a bit I did hear about the Ranger Distress Oxide Inks  and had purchase them months ago. They were just sitting in a box under my craft station waiting patiently to be used. Well, I gotta tell ya! I used them this weekend and I LOVE them!! They blend beautifully and I am excited to use them in future projects!

As you can see, this card is featuring a background that was blend with Distress Oxide Inks. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot for the sky. I used a white gel pen to create the stars in the sky. It turned so beautiful!

For the grass, I die cut it from Craftin Desert Divas Outdoor Landscape 2 Dies.  I used Peeled Paint, Lucky Clover, and a little Black Soot on the edges to color it in.

I loved this little image from Sugar Pea Designs "Koalaty Time". It was part of the Stamptember Release from Simon Says Stamp. (Sorry, I believe it is sold out). I colored the image with Copic markers and added them to the simple scene. The sentiment is from this same set and was heat embossed.

I am hoping to share some more with you this week!

Thankful for Mice Friends

September 29, 2017 0 Comments

Happy Friday to you! It is feeling more like autumn today so my project is perfect to go with the autumn weather. Get you self a nice cup of tea ( I like chai ) and sit a spell. I won't keep you long.

For today's project I used the new Craftin Desert Divas Harvest Wishes stamps and the Treat Bag Dies. This stamp set is so cute!

I colored up this playful mouse with my Copic markers and added him to the scalloped square that is part of the die set. The bow was my finishing touch. Super simple but, oh so cute!

I am adding this to the monthly mood board challenge hosted by Craftin Desert Divas Gallery on Facebook.

Here is the current board:

There you have it, short and sweet!

Enjoy your tea and have a great weekend!

Freaking Jawsome

September 28, 2017 0 Comments

Hello! I am thrilled to be back blogging and creating!

Today I am sharing a card that I cased! Yes, when I need inspiration I look at what others have done and I case them. It's a great way to try new things or just to get your mojo flowing again.

The card I cased is from my friend Mayra's blog: Mayra's Designs. You can find her card HERE.

For my version of the card I began by inking up a panel using Distress Inks. Once I achieved the blend that I linked I moved on to coloring my images. I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens for this step.

This card was designed with many Craftin Desert Divas products.

To create the beach scene I used CDD Island Dies and CDD Ocean Border Dies. The waves were inked up with some more Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers my palm tree was colored my Zig pens.  I added my shark image from CDD Jawsome stamps. I love this image! It's great for guy cards! The sentiment is from that same stamp set and was stamped on a banner from CDD Flag Banner Dies. The card is framed perfectly using the CDD Fancy Frames Dies.

To finish everything off, I added a few sequins but, not too many! After all, this is a guy card and we really shouldn't add sequins but I just couldn't help myself!

I hope you enjoyed my rambling! Have a freakin' jawsome day!

Sending Birthday Wishes

September 26, 2017 1 Comments
Hello, and welcome to my first official post on my new blog!

I hope you become a frequent visitor. Feel free to comment and ask questions! I would love your feedback!

Birthday cards are a staple to have on hand. You never know when you will need one.  I put together this card for someone special.

I've had the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers stamps in my possession for quite some time and finally stamped them out! I heat embossed them and filled them with color using Distress Inks.

The curved edge and scallops were achieved using dies from Pink & Main called Scallop Wave Dies

Did you ever have a project that was just about finished and you were putting the finishing touches on and then something happens and your heart drops! Yes, that is exactly what happened here! As I was adding my sentiment to the front of this card. The stamp fell off my Misti and left a black mark right in the center of the card! Ugh! My heart dropped! I fidgeted with this card, tried to take my flowers off so that I could salvage them but my glue held on too tight. I thought I was going to have to scrap this and move on to another project. With frustration I set it aside for a day. When I came back to it, a solution came to me. I had this birthday wishes banner set aside from another project that I hadn't used. I put it over the inked spot on the card and it covered it perfectly! Yay! Card saved!

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas Wishful Thoughts Stamps and the banner is from the Flag Banner Dies. To really complete the card I added a few Nuvo Drops.

This is the first card I had made in quite some time so I still feel a little rusty but I would count this as a success!

Craft on, my friends!
